The Mautz Experiment

The bigger is the better, going by a woman’s penis size preferences, a new study has revealed. The
findings also reveal that this singular female preference may have propelled the evolution of larger penises in humans in general.
Past psychology studies that have sought from women their choicest of penis sizes have produced mixed
outcomes, with some observing that they don’t much care for the size, while others declare defiantly they love larger penises.
But do not omit that we as humans may feel withing such circuit of publicity the pressure to assume political correctness, and hence these women’s response that size doesn’t matter, the study leader Brian Mautz, a biologist at the University of Ottawa, Canada, at the time, observingly pointed out.
So his team initiated an experiment in which 105 Australian women, averaging 26 years old, had to look at 53 life-size images of various computer-generated male silhouettes projected onto a screen.
The men had different heights, body shapes, and penis lengths in a flaccid state. From studies in the past, however, women have generally favored tall men with greater body shapes as more magnetic and thereby making these factors crucial in how a woman makes her judgment when it comes to attractiveness.
The women in this current Mautz-led study were then asked to rate the men on an attractiveness scale of 1 to 7, with 1 being least attractive and 7 being most.
Although body shape appeared the most popular factor in whether or not women rated a male shape as
attractive or not, penis size also in no mean measure influenced judgment.
Moreover, the relationship wasn’t necessarily linear, viz. “the larger the pens grows, the more attractive the man,” Mautz pointed out.
For instance, the rate at which women rated the men as attractive began to go see a decline when flaccid penises were longer than 2.99 inches. Height also had a huge play in things:
“Tall males with rather humongous penises ended up being most attractive as compared with other figures,” Mautz revealed.
It’s not entirely certain as yet why women prefer huger shafts, but studies have hinted that women prefer larger tools because they are capable of increasing sexual satisfaction, said Mautz.

THE EVOLVING PENIS

Since in the antiquity of Man’s time on earth, humans wore no clothes, male penises were obvious to
women. So if women made choice of their mates dependent on the size of their genitalia, it’s mightn’t be much far from the truth that these choices greatly influenced the evolution of bigger penises, according to the study, which was published in the journal: Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
“We can’t say for sure that female choice is what drove the evolution of penis size,” but “at this point in time, penis size has an effect on attractiveness,” study team leader Mautz had said.
But evolutionary psychologist Gordon Gallup Jr. said in an email that there might be some limitations to the Mautz’s team’s theory that female choice played a role in the evolution of penises.
For the one part, previous studies have proven that “the flaccid human penis is an imperfect indicator of the size of the erect penis,” said Gallup, of the State University of New York at Albany, who was not involved in the study with Mautz.
Hypothetically, women in the early days of human evolution would have seen most penises flaccid. What’s more is, the results indicate that women paid more attention to body shapes than penis size when rating an image as attractive, said Gallup.
However, Gallup has done his own research on penis evolution extensively, which he observed has
been shaped by a man’s competition with other males to fertilize a woman’s eggs.
His research has found that the penis’s arrow-like shape is able to scoop rival male semen out of the female’s reproductive tract. Also, studies using models of human penises have shown clearly that deeper thrusting displaces more semen from a woman’s reproductive tract than shallow thrusting. Therefore hinting “long penises may have also evolved to deposit semen in the deepest and more remote parts of the vagina to promote more effective sperm retention,” he observed further.
Altogether, whatever the reason for large penises, this field of study addresses a question that some will find humorous, study leader Mautz owned.
“It’s important that you are serious in science and our results are solid, but it doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t have fun with it.” Mautz concluded lightly.
